Anonymous brings you #OpUkraine

Greetings Citizens of the world,
We are Anonymous.
It has come to our Attention that the UEFA Football EURO 2012 & Ukrainian Government have been engaging in one of the most brutal, bloody systematic slaughters of animals the world has ever seen. So far 80,000 dogs have been killed in the cities of Ukraine to “clean-up” the streets for a week long football event. Over 1 Million people have signed various petitions addressed directly to the UEFA and Ukrainian Government calling for an end to these inhumane acts, yet they ignore every complaint. Even worse: The Ukrainian Government censors these events with lies and fabricated media reports. Why do you ask? The answer is clear, money. UEFA makes millions of Euros with this event, as does Ukraine for hosting the event. 250,000 more dogs lives will be lost leading up to the UEFA EURO 2012 and UEFA continue to deny having any involvement with the Ukraine’s slaughter, stating they cannot interfere with matters not directly related to football, even though they ARE directly related. UEFA has donated on two occasions 8,000 Euros for the Sterilization of stray Dogs, as well as cats in the city of Ukraine, as well as giving away 196 Million Euros in bonuses for the whole event. Who is to blame? Who do we point the finger at? It’s easy.
UEFA President Michel Franswah Platini & Ukraine President Viktor Yanukohvich, You are both solely responsible for this massacre on animals. When Several foreign animal organizations offered their knowledge and help to rescue the stray animals in the cities of Ukraine, you showed absolutely no interest. You claim there is not enough money to start an animal-rescue program, yet you have enough money to buy a 20,000 dollar mobile crematorium? Your actions contradict European Animal rights Convention and any adequate humans moral principles!

We Anonymous give you, Operation Ukraine. We will fight against your violation of human, and animal rights. We will not forgive your Canine Holocaust, and We will not forget the Censorship you impose upon the people. To the Ukraine Government & UEFA

We are Legion.
We do not Forgive.
We Do not Forget.
You should have expected US.

I’ve been to so many big earth-shaking events from BigTechCo’s — today’s Google thing is making me yawn, while my eyes glaze over in boredom. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Here’s how products like this are conceived: Permanent link to this item in the archive.

1. We need to kill Facebook. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

2. What will we do. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

3. It can’t just be Facebook. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

4. No one will use that. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

5. It has to be better. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

6. It has to be something only we can do. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

7. Some place where we have the advantage. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

8. Something people have no choice but to use. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

So if you’re Microsoft in 1999, you bake it into Windows. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

If you’re Google in 2011, you bake it into search. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

All you do is make your core product heavier. The thing you wanted to kill doesn’t go anywhere. It hardly notices what you did. The users might care to the extent that they’re annoyed (or in the case of wordpress.com and their fear of being left out of the iPad, hugely annoyed). Permanent link to this item in the archive.

A picture named elephant.jpgThe thing that makes Facebook great is that it incubated in the market with real users. It was made by real users. It was formed by actual use. One day at a time, one feature at a time, in public, every home run visible, and every mis-step. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Products like the one Google just announced are hatched at off-sites at resorts near Monterey or in the Sierra, and were designed to meet the needs of the corporation that created it. A huge scared angry corporation. What little is left of the spark that created it in the first place is now used to being Number One, and wants to feel that again. It’s being created to make that person feel better. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Eventually they will become an investment bank and a services company. The fate for all former high-flying techco’s. Permanent link to this item in the archive.

A software upgrade planned for the first quarter of 2011 will include more than 50 enhancements, including a browser with a more intuitive user interface. During the second and third quarters Nokia will add “a new look and feel for the user interface, a more flexible home screen, an updateable HTML5 browser and an easier software update experience”, according to a slide labelled “Nokia Symbian 2011 focus areas.

WOW! big news! this was heard today during the 2010 International Mobile Internet Conference in Beijing, where Nokia gave a presentation re: exciting upgrades to Symbian, many planned to come in the first quarter of 2011, including improvements to the browser’s user interface. This is pretty exciting for Symbian fans everywhere hoping the combination of Nokia’s great touchscreen plus an updated UI could be something unparalleled. the HTML5 support is thoughtful too, as it could bring a generation of older mobile web-accessible but not quite ‘smart’ phones up to speed with a new software over the air update to roll out.

wow. meet the new twitter!!!!

integration all around!

a lot of people have criticized the timing of this update (that it’s been too slow) or said that this rollout copies existing sites’ offerings like Brizzly and reflects a richness that is obviously “of the moment” or “old news” —

These critiques make sense from a user perspective but leveraging huge changes across an API like twitter is a major undertaking. As such, I’m mildly pleased with the redesign prospects so far.

I think Mashable has it wrong— it isn’t about the Facebookification of Twitter, it’s about connecting the dots and leveraging existing assets for a richer experience.

For brands— this is BIG and great news.It allows for a 1-2-3 rich site full of content uploaded via microblog.

For the haters — try to think of this as a natural next step.

For the happy ones— what do you love about this? How will it change your user experience?

Twitter Users Have Big Impact On Brands

Really vital data that doesn’t surprise me but I’m psyched to see it prove what I already knew (bold emphasis is mine):

Active Twitter users are three times more likely to impact a brand’s online reputation via Tweets, blog posts, articles and product reviews than the average consumer, according to a new survey by Exact Target.

“Consumers active on Twitter are clearly the most influential online,” said Morgan Stewart, principal, ExactTarget’s research and education group.

“What happens on Twitter doesn’t stay on Twitter. While the number of active Twitter users is less than Facebook or email, the concentration of highly engaged and influential content creators is unrivaled-it’s become the gathering place for content creators whose influence spills over into every other corner of the Internet.”

Twitter users are the most influential online consumers - 72 percent publish blog posts at least monthly, 70 percent comment on blogs, 61 percent write at least one product review monthly and 61 percent comment on news sites.

Complex: What do you think of the shift from print to Internet? Sites reported a while ago that you said print and retail are over.

Kelly Cutrone: Let me clear that statement up. What I meant by that was that print media as we know it, and knew it, will inevitably change and transform. Twenty years ago, nobody would believe you’d get your news instantaneously and for free. Now you get your news for free. You used to have to buy something called a newspaper. The whole thing about magazines is that for me, magazines are going to become deeper and more tutorial, and the nature of the magazine is going to change. These little blog sites post: “Halle Berry loves Shimmer Me Pink Lipstick at $1.69,” they’re instant hits and they’re going to move product. [What I meant was that] perhaps we would return to the source of the type of publishing that had larger, deeper, more Life/Vanity Fair-esque well stories.

I particularly loved her attitude & trend forecast here. I’d bet she’s right on.

Quick…someone notify their next of kin! ………Uncle Kindle?!
ROFL.
Microsoft’s statement:

“We have made the decision to focus exclusively on Windows Phone 7 and we will not ship KIN in Europe this fall as planned. Additionally, we are integrating our KIN team with the Windows Phone 7 team, incorporating valuable ideas and technologies from KIN into future Windows Phone releases. We will continue to work with Verizon in the U.S. to sell current KIN phones.”

The short-lived social networking KIN was sort of smartphone-ish, but not smart enough apparently to keep itself alive. Microsoft has canceled the existing product’s launch later this year in Europe on news that sales weren’t as strong as expected, and is folding the Kin team into the core Windows Phone 7 team.
It’s unclear how long Verizon will continue to sell KIN phones. What really killed this phone was:
(1) lack of apps - none! no gaming, no app store. horrific.
(2) INSANELY priced data plans ~ similar pricing to iphone or android but zero features. Verizon was blatantly banKIN too much off the kin for it’s feature set
(3) confusing, POS OS (that’s piece of shit operating system) and
(4) LAMENESS! targeting preteens and teens with the Kin FAILED. Revealing, perhaps, that they want what anyone 18-24 or 25-45 wants: A GREAT DEVICE with multi-functionality, intuitive UX, sleek UI, long battery life, etc. Segmentation aside, we all want the same thing.
So now that the product has been disKINtinued, it will be interesting to see whether existing MEGA media buys Kin did (with Bravo TV’s Watch What Happens and a few other big ones will stay pumping or if they’ll diskintinue and pull the plug!
In sum, RIP Kin I & II. We barely even knew you, lil friend! Did anyone like them? Profess your shameful love for this plastic polly pocket. Or better yet plz seek out words containing our fallen little friends’ name & KINTINUE the mockery!
